Back in about 2008, I interviewed a 70 something year old woman named Gloria Alvino, who was living in an assisted care facility. Gloria had died on the operating table and come back to life a few minutes later.
Her description of what happened to her during the minutes she was pronounced dead made an indelible impression on me and certainly was in alignment with how so many Near Death Experiences are described. The music. The light. The love. The loved ones…
Anyway, I’ll always remember what she replied when I asked her my final question,
“Gloria, did you learn anything about life when you were dead?”
She said, “Oh yes! That altruism is our highest purpose. We’re all here to help others. That’s why we’re here!”
