The Day That Changed My Life Forever
I was 22, living in San Francisco and walking to work when I came upon a woman laying on the sidewalk, pregnant, alone, and begging for help.
No one was stopping to help her because she was homeless.
She asked me to call for an ambulance so I did.
But before it arrived,
I ended up delivering her baby right there on the sidewalk! It was the most joyful experience ever!
It also changed my life.
I discovered two things by helping a stranger birth a little baby girl. First, that helping others is what we are here to do.
And second, that leading from your heart puts you on a path that is purposeful and magical.
My “sidewalk baby delivery” made national news. It was the first story I shared with the world.
Since then, I’ve been blessed to share many more stories with millions of people, but “Student Sidewalk Doctor” is still my most treasured because it gave me the gift of knowing what I was here to do with my life.
